This document defines acid etched glass and specifies tolerances, visual appearance requirements and other physical characteristics of these products for use in building. This document applies to acid etched glass manufactured from various types of glass, including heat treated glass where the surface finish is applied after the heat treatment. It also applies to acid etched glass where the surface finish is applied to laminated glass or laminated safety glass. It only applies to glass where the acid etching is the final process. This document does not apply to glass where further processing (e.g. heat treatment) has taken place after the surface finish has been applied. In such cases, reference will be made to the relevant product standard for the process. This standard does not apply to products primarily intended for artistic purposes.
