Diese Europäische Norm legt Prüfverfahren und Mindestleistungsanforderungen für Schutzkleidung fest, die den Körper des Trägers, außer Kopf, Händen und Füßen, schützen soll und die für den Einsatz bei der Brandbekämpfung im freien Gelände und den damit verbundenen Aktivitäten bestimmt ist. Diese Kleidung bietet keinen Schutz für den Fall, dass der Träger vom Feuer eingeschlossen ist. Sie behandelt die allgemeine Ausführung der Bekleidung, die von den verwendeten Materialien mindestens zu erreichende Leistungsstufe und die Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung dieser Stufen.
