Schutzkleidung für spezialisierte Brandbekämpfung wird nur für kurze Zeiträume getragen, die es dem Feuerwehrmann erlauben, besondere "Hochrisiko-Brandbekämpfung" und "Brand-Rettungssituationen" durchzuführen, die auch den Einsatz von Atemschutzgeräten erfordern. Behandelt sind Prüfverfahren und Mindestanforderungen für Schutzkleidung, die bei "Hochrisiko-Einsätzen" unter intensiver Wäremstrahlung und Kontakt mit Flammen benutzt wird. Die Schutzwirkung dieser Schutzkleidung für die Brandbekämpfung beruht auf der Eigenschaft der Außenmaterialien, starke Wärmestrahlung zu reflektieren. Um die grundsätzlichen Sicherheitseigenschaften zu verbessern, kann es notwendig sein, andere Kleidung drunter zu tragen, z. B. Kleidung nach prEN 469.
