Diese Norm legt Anforderungen an die Festigkeit, Steifigkeit und Dauerhaftigkeit von Holzmasten für Freileitungen fest, wobei Abweichungen von den festgelegten Maßen EN 12479 entsprechen müssen. Diese Norm gilt für Maste sowohl aus Nadelholz als auch aus Laubholz. Diese Norm gilt nur für einstielige Maste unter Ausleger- oder Druckbeanspruchung. Sie berücksichtigt nicht die Verwendung von Masten als Biegeträger.
