Festgelegt werden Sicherheitsanforderungen und Schutzmaßnahmen, die bei der Konstruktion, dem Bau und der Lieferung von Transfer- und Einzweck- oder Sondermaschinen zu beachten sind. Diese beschriebenen Maschinen sind nur für die Bearbeitung eines vorher festgelegten Werkstückes oder einer beschränkten Teilefamilie durch eine vorgegebene Folge von Bearbeitungsvorgängen und Prozessen geeignet. Die festgelegten Zugangsregelungen zu den Bearbeitungspositionen der Maschine und zu den Be- und Entladestationen setzen einen allseitigen Zugang zur Maschine voraus. Die beschriebenen Mittel zur Risikominderung gelten sowohl für Bediener als auch für andere gefährdete Personen. Diese ÖNORM gilt auch für Werkstück-Transporteinrichtungen, wenn diese ein integraler Bestandteil dieser Maschine sind.
