Diese ÖNORM legt die Anforderungen an die Bemessung und die Herstellung von Ein- und Mehrrollenlagern mit horizontaler Rollenachse fest. Zur Aufnahme von Verschiebungen parallel zur Rollenachse können Rollenlager mit einem Gleitteil nach ÖNORM EN 1337-2 kombiniert wrden. Um eine Verdrehung um eine Achse rechtwinklig zur Rollenachse oder - bei Mehrollenlagern - um beide Achsen zu ermöglichen, dürfen die Rollenlager mit Lagern nach anderen Teilen von ÖNORM EN 1337 kombiniert werden. Dieser Teil von ÖNORM EN 1337 gilt nicht für Rollenlager, die aus anderen Materialien als denjenigen nach Abschnitt 5 hergestellt sind. Lager, die unter den Einwirkungen der charakteristischen Kombinationen einer Verdrehung ausgesetzt sind, die größer ist als 0,05 Radian, liegen außerhalb des Anwendungsbereichs dieses Teils von ÖNORM EN 1337.
