Diese Europäische Norm ist Teil einer Reihe von Prüfnormen für mechanische und physikalische Eigenschaften von Asphalt und beschreibt ein Verfahren, nach dem aus Asphalt, der als Straßenbaumaterial verwendet wird, lösliches Bindemittel in einer zur weiteren Prüfung geeigneten Form zurückzugewinnen ist. Dieses Verfahren dient lediglich der Rückgewinnung von Straßenbaubitumen, die nach ihrer Nadelpenetration klassifiziert werden. Das beschriebene Verfahren erfordert die Anwendung von Dichlormethan. Dieses Lösemittel ist gesundheitsgefährdend, beim Umgang damit sind für die Beschäftigten Expositionsgrenzen einzuhalten; ein Lüftungssystem ist vorzusehen.
