Diese Norm enthält die allgemeinen Anforderungen an die Oberflächenbeschaffenheit von warmgewalztem Blech und Breitflachstahl sowie von warmgewalzten Profilen aus Stahl. Sie gilt für die Anforderungen an die Art, die zulässige Tiefe und zulässige Größe der beeinflussten Oberflächenzone bei Ungänzen (Unvollkommenheiten und Fehler) und Ausbesserungen durch Schleifen und/oder Schweißen. Diese Norm ist nur insoweit anzuwenden, als die entsprechende Werkstoff- oder Erzeugnisnorm keine anderen Anforderungen an die Oberflächenbeschaffenheit festlegt. Die Anforderungen nach der jeweiligen Werkstoff- oder Erzeugnisnorm haben stets Vorrang.
