Sie gilt für Stahlbauten, d.h. Konstruktionen aus Stahl, die eines Tragsicherheitsnachweises bedürfen. Sie gilt sinngemäß auch für Schiffe, Pontons, Großrohrleitungen usw. Nach Vereinbarung kann die Norm auch für andere Konstruktionen und Bauteile aus Stahl angewendet werden. Die Bestimmungen der ÖNORM B 2299 "Korrosionsschutzarbeiten - - Werkvertragsnorm"sind einzuhalten.
