Diese Technische Spezifikation, Teil 20 der EN 13130, legt ein Analyseverfahren zur Bestimmung des Restgehaltes an Epichlorhydrin in Beschichtungen fest. Das Verfahren eignet sich zur quantitativen Bestimmung von Epichlorhydrin im Konzentrationsbereich des Analyten von 5 ng/ml bis 80 ng/ml Extrakt. Im Allgemeinen ermöglicht das Verfahren den Nachweis von Epichlorhydrin bei einer Konzentrationvon 1 mg/kg Polymer oder im Fall von Beschichtungen, bei denen die Polymermenge nicht bestimmt werden kann, ist der Nachweis von 1 µg Epichlorhydrin je Quadratdezimeter Beschichtung technisch durchführbar. Um zuverlässige und reproduzierbare Ergebnisse zu erhalten, ist es wichtig, das in diesem Teil der EN 13130 beschriebene Verfahren möglichst genau einzuhalten.
