The present ÖNORM specifies several classes for different requirements which, on the one hand, allow for dwelling activities with higher sound emission (e.g. playing of musical instruments, operation of high-capacity music equipment) and, on the other hand, provide diffentiated protection against noise from adjacent units or from outside.
