The present Austrian Standard includes basic principles for planning and processing of external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) in building construction and applies to all insulating material thicknesses. This ÖNORM shall be used for external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) on external building parts, on vertical surfaces as well as on surfaces which are not directly exposed to weathering (e.g. soffits). It only applies to bonded ETICS and to bonded ETICS with additional mechanical fixing and contains the basics for the standard safety proof. The ETICS have to provide a declaration of performance and to comply with the requirements according to ÖNORM B 6400-2. The connection of ETICS to windows and door height windows is not part of this ÖNORM.
