Diese ÖNORM ist für alle werksmäßig aus mineralischen Fasern in gebundener Form endgefertigten Dämmstoffe (gebundene Mineralwolle), die für die Wärmedämmung und/oder den Schallschutz - insbesondere die Trittschalldämmung - sowie die Raumakustik im Hochbau verwendet werden, anzuwenden. Sie enthält die an diese Dämmstoffe zu stellenden Anforderungen sowie die zugehörigen Verfahrensbestimmungen für die Prüfung im Sinne dieser ÖNORM, Überwachung und Kennzeichnung dieser Produkte. Andere Prüfungen (zB die Prüfung von Bauwerksproben) sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM. Die zur Feststellung der geforderten Eigenschaften notwendigen Prüfmethoden sind der ÖNORM B 6010 zu entnehmen. Diese ÖNORM ist auch für gebundene Mineralwolle mit Beschichtungen (zB Pappe, Papier-, Metall- und Kunststoff-Folien, Vlies) anzuwenden.
