Diese ÖNORM ist für einbruchhemmende Fenster, Türen (Türeinheiten) und zusätzliche Abschlüsse (z. B. Rollläden, Fensterläden) anzuwenden, und zwar für ein- und mehrflügelige Elemente in den Öffnungsarten Drehen, Kippen, Klappen, Drehkippen, Schwingen, Schieben (horizontal und vertikal), Rollen und Falten sowie für nicht bewegliche Bauteile.
Die Klassifizierung der Einbruchhemmung und die zugehörenden Anforderungen sind der ÖNORM EN 1627, die erforderlichen Prüfmethoden den ÖNORMEN EN 1628, EN 1629 und EN 1630 zu entnehmen. Diese ÖNORM berücksichtigt nicht den Einsatz von Fahrzeugen sowie Manipulationsmöglichkeiten und Einbruchsversuche an elektronischen oder elektromagnetischen Sicherungseinrichtungen. ANMERKUNG Bauteile, die durch Kraftfahrzeuge erreicht oder mit solchen durchfahren werden können, sollten durch geeignete Maßnahmen wie Sperren, ausfahrbare Rampen u. dgl. gesichert werden. Anforderungen an beschusshemmende Bauteile sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM sondern in ÖNORM EN 1522 geregelt.
