The present Austrian Standard defines construction rules for wooden windows and wooden-aluminium windows in form of fixed windows, bottom hinged and side/bottom hung sash windows, designed as single windows with insulating glass, composite windows and countersash windows. The profiles of these windows are made of wood as well as, if necessary, with aluminium wall linings.
This ÖNORM does not apply to windows inside of buildings which are subject to the act on monument protection or which are of decisive importance for the townscape. This ÖNORM does not cover the repair of windows. Furthermore, windows to which requirements for fire resistance and/or smoke control and/or burglar resistance are specified, as well as roof windows and curtain wallings, are not dealt with by this ÖNORM.
