The present Austrian Standard concerns maintenance works on windows, door height windows, external pedestrian doorsets and combinations thereof in building construction, hereinafter referred to as « windows », irrespective of material, construction and installation. This ÖNORM includes criteria for the assessment of the condition of windows as well as instructions and specifications for the implementation of maintenance measures and for solicitation of maintenance work. For the recording of window condition, the form given in this ÖNORM is recommended to be used. Maintenance is part of this ÖNORM.
Repair and maintenance of shutters (e.g. rolling shutters, blinds, insect protection) as well as general cleaning of the windows (glass and frame) are not covered by this ÖNORM.
