In dieser ÖNORM werden Abmessungen, Anforderungen, Prüfungen und die Gütesicherung für Kunststoff-Rohrsysteme aus Polyethylen mit erhöhter Temperaturbeständigkeit (PE-RT) für Heiß- und Kaltwasserinstallationen (Heizleitungsbereich und Sanitärbereich) innerhalb und außerhalb von Gebäuden bzw. erdverlegt festgelegt. Diese ÖNORM ist für die Werkstoffe PE-RT Typ 1 und PE-RT Typ 2 anzuwenden. Rohrsysteme aus PE-RT Typ 1 werden für Niedertemperatur-heizungen (zB Flächenheizungen) und im Sanitärbereich (Warmwasser bis 60 °C) eingesetzt. Rohrsysteme aus PE-RT Typ 2 werden für Radiatoranbindungen (zB Zentralheizung), im Sanitärbereich (Warmwasser bis 70 °C) sowie für Heißwasserleitungen (Wassertemperatur bis 80 °C) eingesetzt.
