ÖNORM B 5050

This ÖNORM gives provisions for the proof of tightness and stability by means of pressure testing of water-carrying pipes. This ÖNORM applies to the following water-bearing, newly constructed and existing pipelines: Penstock pipes and further pipes in case of hydroelectric installations, turbine supply lines and distribution piping up to the flange of the final organ before the turbine, pressure pipes for snowmaking equipment, filling and discharge lines from storage ponds in snowmaking equipment. Except for pressure tunnels and shafts and their armor and armor directly to the subsequent turbine supply lines and distribution lines (eg power plants, caverns and shafts) and control and hydraulic lines, sewers and water supply lines. This ÖNORM applies to all pipe materials (eg steel, cast iron, GRP, PVC, PE, PP, concrete) as well as for longitudinal restrained and non-restrained connection systems.
