This Austrian Standard describes the method for the determination of consistency limits of fine grained soils or the respective fines of mixed grained soils up to a grain size of 0,4 mm. The consistency limits include the yield point, the plastic limit and the shrinkage limit. After publication of Prestandard VORNORM ÖNORM CEN ISO/TS 17892-12, the present ÖNORM has been revised in order to add supplements and to take into account national experience. The determination of the yield point has been supplemented by the fall cone test, the plasticity retention index via the linear shrinkage test as well as methods for the determination of the shrikage limit.
