Mit ÖNORM B 4300 wird für den Stahlbau das semiprobabilistische Sicherheitskonzept mit Teilsicherheitsbeiwerten eingeführt. Alternativ hiezu bleibt ÖNORM B 4600 mit allen ihren Teilen sowie mit ihren Folgenormen (B 4601, B 4602, B 4603, B 4604, B 4605 und B 4650 Teile 1, 3, 4, 5 und 7) weiterhin in Geltung, jedoch darf jede der beiden Normenreihen nur für sich angewendet werden. In ÖNORM B 4300-1 wird für den Nachweis der Tragsicherheit von stabilitätsgefährdeten plattenartigen Bauteilen die Anwendung von DIN 18800 Teil 3 unter Einhaltung der in der vorliegenden ÖNORM enthaltenen Bedingungen gefordert. Für die Berechnung der Beanspruchung Sd sind die ÖNORM B 4300-1, die vorliegende ÖNORM und DIN 18800 Teil 3 gemeinsam heranzuziehen.
