In dieser ÖNORM werden die für Brückenbauwerke bestehenden spezifischen Anforderungen hinsichtlich der Lagerausstattung geregelt. Sie ergänzt damit die Serie ÖNORM EN 1337, welche allgemeine Regelungen für Lager im Bauwesen spezifiziert. Diese ÖNORM gilt auch für Lagerbauarten, die nicht durch die ÖNORM EN 1337 (alle Teile), sondern durch andere technische Vorschriften (z.B. DIN V 4141-13) oder Zulassungen geregelt sind. Betongelenke und ähnliche Konstruktionen sowie ausschließlich in Bauzuständen verwendete Lager sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM. Diese ÖNORM ist für alle Lager von Eisenbahn-, Straßen- und Fußgängerbrücken des öffentlichen Verkehrs anzuwenden. Sie gilt jedoch nicht für Hochbauten.
