Hinsichtlich der Leistungsanforderungen sowie Verfahren für Entwurf, Konstruktion und Bemessung/Prüfung gilt für Fassadengerüste aus vorgefertigten Bauteilen die ÖNORM EN 12810-1, Arbeitsgerüste die ÖNORM EN 12811-1, Traggerüste die ÖNORM EN 12812, Stützentürme aus vorgefertigten Bauteilen die ÖNORM EN 12813, verfahrbare Arbeitsgerüste aus vorgefertigten Bauteilen die ÖNORM EN 1004, temporäre Seitenschutzsysteme die ÖNORM EN 13374, vertikale Schalungen die ÖNORM EN 15113-1. Sonderkonsolgerüste wie bei Schornsteinen und ähnlichen Bauwerken sind nicht Gegenstand dieser ÖNORM.
