Die Norm enthält Bestimmungen über Ausführung, Prüfung und Kennzeichnung von ein- und zweiflügeligen Drehflügeltüren oder -toren aus güteüberwachter Fertigung, die den Brandwiderstandsklassen brandhemmend (T 30), hochbrandhemmend (T 60) oder brandbeständig (T 90) entsprechen. Ausgenommen sind Brandschutztore gemäß ÖNORM B 3852, Dachbodenabschlüsse gemäß ÖNORM B 3860, sonstige Brandschutzabschlüsse gemäß ÖNORM B 3800-3, Rauchabschlüsse gemäß ÖNORM B 3855, Abschlüsse für Aufzüge gemäß den ÖNORMEN B 2450 und B 2455, Strahlenschutztüren gemäß ÖNORM S 5210 sowie Schutzraumtüren gemäß ÖNORM S 6050. Die Norm sieht eine Fremdüberwachung aufgrund eines Überwachungsvertrages mit einer österreichischen staatlich autorisierten Prüfanstalt sowie die Kennzeichnung "ÖNORM B 3850geprüft" vor.
