This Austrian Standard specifies categories, requirements and test methods for full glass shower cubicles for indoor use, in order to ensure that individual products, corresponding to the local situation and made to measure, possess the appropriate usability for the intended purpose. Full glass shower cubicles (shower areas for personal care ) may consist of full glass shower doors and/or fixed parts with free glass edges or plug-on seals and/or glass wall coverings and/or glass floor tiles. Full frame or part frame shower separation walls produced as building elements, irrespective of the mounting situation, which have to be installed according to the manufacturer´s instructions, are not coverd by the present Standard. The purpose of full glass shower cubicles is to form a protection wall between the splash water loaded area serving for personal hygiene and the area protected against splash water.
