In dieser ÖNORM wird zwischen Wasserzählern, Wasserzähleranlagen und vorgefertigten Wasserzähleranlagen unterschieden. Neue Wasserzähleranlagen für den Einbau von Wasserzählern mit Gewindeanschlüssen und mit einer Nennbelastung bis 30 m3/h müssen aus vorgefertigten Einheiten bestehen und dieser Norm entsprechen. Insbesondere ist für eine Wasserzähleranlage eine Mindesteinbaulänge vorzusehen. Erläutert wird im Detail die Ausstattung von Wasserzähleranlagen und die Prüfung der Montageelemente. Weiters sieht diese ÖNORM eine Normkennzeichnung gemäß § 3 (1) Normengesetz 1971 vor.
