Diese ÖNORM enthält Verfahrens- und Vertragsbestimmungen für die Ausführung von Abbrucharbeiten von Bauwerken oder von Teilen derselben. Im Falle von Verdacht auf Schadstoff ist ergänzend die ONR 192130 anzuwenden. Für Abbrucharbeiten von Bauwerken nach unkontrollierten Krafteinwirkungen (z. B. Explosion, Brand, Erdbeben, Beschuss) sind die Bestimmungen dieser ÖNORM als Richtlinie sinngemäß anzuwenden. Diese ÖNORM ist nicht anzuwenden für den Abbruch durch Sprengen mit Explosivstoffen. Ebenso gilt diese ÖNORM nicht für den Abbruch von schwach gebundenen asbesthaltigen Stoffen gemäß ÖNORM M 9406. Der Abschnitt 5 enthält die Vertragsbestimmungen für die Ausführung von Abbrucharbeiten. Diese Vertragsbestimmungen regeln gemeinsam mit der ÖNORM B 2110 oder der ÖNORM B 2117 die Rechte und Pflichten der Auftraggeber (AG) und Auftragnehmer (AN). Dieser Abschnitt ist dazu bestimmt, Vertragsbestandteil zu werden. Diese Neuausgabe wurde an die aktuelle umwelt- und abfallrechtliche Entwicklung angepasst und Anforderungen an das Fachpersonal festgelegt. In den neuen normativen Anhängen "Objektbeschreibung durch den AG" und "Abbruchanweisung" werden Formularmuster zur Unterstützung der praktischen Abwicklung von Abbruchvorhaben zur Verfügung gestellt.
