Dieser Teil der ISO 8791 legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Rauheit von Papier, Pappe und Karton fest. Hierbei wird ein Gerät nach dieser Norm benutzt, welches mit dem Print-Surf-Verfahren einher geht. Das Messverfahren ist für alle Druckpapiere, Pappen bzw. Kartons anwendbar, bei denen es möglich ist, eine hinreichend luftdurchlässige Abdichtung entlang der Dichtringe des Messkopfes zu bilden.
