Diese Geräuschmessnorm enthält Festlegungen, die zur Durchführung einer einheitlichen und effizienten Ermittlung der Geräuschemission von handgehaltenen Forst- und Gartenmaschinen mit Verbrennungsmotor notwendig sind, wie von Kettensägen, Freischneidern, Grastrimmern, motorbetriebenen Hochentastern, Heckenscheren und Blas-/Sauggeräten für den Garten. Die ermittelten Geräuschemissions-Kennwerte sind der A-bewertete Emissions-Schalldruckpegel am Ort der Bedienungsperson und der A-bewertete Schallleistungspegel. Obwohl die Geräuschemissionswerte teilweise in einem Ersatz-Arbeitsverfahren ermittelt werden, sind sie für die Geräuschemission unter praktischen Arbeitsbedingungen repräsentativ.
