Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Gesamtstickstoffgehaltes und zur Berechnung des Rohproteingehaltes von Ölsaatenschrote und Futtermitteln fest. Dieses dem Kjeldahl-Verfahren ähnliche Verfahren unterscheidet nicht zwischen Protein-Stickstoff und Nicht-Protein-Stickstoff. Zur Berechnung des Proteingehaltes werden verschiedene Umrechnungsfaktoren verwendet. Dieses Verfahren gilt nicht für Milch und Milcherzeugnisse, für welche ein Verfahren in ISO 14891/IDF 185 festgelegt ist.
