Sie behandelt keine Anwendungen außerhalb des Geltungsbereiches von DIN EN 81-1 oder DIN EN 81-2. Aufzüge, die unter diese Norm fallen, müssen mit den genannten Ausnahmen die Anforderungen der DIN EN 81-1 und DIN EN 81-2 erfüllen. Die Sachverhalte der Norm können nur angewendet werden, wenn die Anforderungen der DIN EN 81-1 und DIN EN 81-2 begründet nicht erfüllt werden können, weil örtliche Gegebenheiten dies nicht erlauben.
