Es enthält Mindestabstände in Abhängigkeit der entsprechenden Körperteile. Das Dokument ist nicht anwendbar auf Risiken, die sich aus Stoß-, Scher- und Einziehgefahren ergeben. Dieses Dokument umfasst als sog. konsolidierte Fassung die bisher gültige Europäische Norm EN 349:1993 einschließlich der im Zusammenhang mit der revidierten Maschinenrichtlinie 2006/42/EG erforderlich gewordenen Änderung 1:2008 und stellt zugleich den Bezug zu dieser ab 29.12.2009 anzuwendenden EG-Richtlinie für Maschinen her.
