Es gilt der Anwendungsbereich von EN 14511-1. Diese Europäische Norm legt die Bedingungen für die Leistungsprüfung von Luftkonditionierern, Flüssigkeitskühlsätzen und Wärmepumpen, die entweder Luft, Wasser oder Sole als Wärmeträger nutzen, mit elektrisch angetriebenen Verdichtern für die Raumbeheizung und/oder -kühlung fest. Die Norm legt auch die Bedingungen für die Leistungsprüfung von luftgekühlten und von wasser(sole-)gekühlten Prozess Kühlern fest. Diese Europäische Norm legt die Bedingungen fest, für die die leistungsbezogenen Daten zu Einkanal- und Zweikanal-Geräten zum Zwecke der Übereinstimmung mit der Ökodesign-Verordnung 206/2012 und der Energiekennzeichnungs-Verordnung 626/2011 angegeben werden müssen.
