Diese Europäische Norm legt Begriffe, Anforderungen und Kennzeichnungskriterien für keramische Fliesen und Platten der ersten handelsüblichen Güteklasse fest (hergestellt durch Strangpress- und Trockenpresstechniken). Fliesen und Platten, die nicht der ersten handelsüblichen Güteklasse entsprechen, sind auch entsprechend den Vorgaben von Anhang Q einbezogen. Diese Europäische Norm deckt keine Fliesen und Platten ab, die durch andere als die normalen üblichen Strangpress- oder Trockenpressprozesse hergestellt wurden (siehe 3.7).
