Diese Norm legt ein Bezeichnungssystem zur Bezeichnung von Profilen aus weichmacherfreiem Polyvinylchlorid (PVC U) für die Anwendung im Bauwesen fest. Dieser Teil gilt für hellfarbige und farbige, durch ein Monoextrusions- oder ein Koextrusionsverfahren erhaltene PVC U Profile mit einer beschichtetem Folie oder einer Lackschicht. Es werden Prüfverfahren und Prüfparameter festgelegt. Dieses Bezeichnungsverfahren ist für die Verwendung bei der Produktspezifikation vorgesehen, sobald die Anwendung festgelegt ist. Profile für die Führung elektrischer Stromkabel, Datenkabel und Stromschienen für die Verteilung von elektrischem Strom, Fenster- oder Türprofile und Profile für Dachrinnen werden durch diese Europäische Norm nicht abgedeckt.
