Das Dokument spezifiziert die besonderen Anforderungen an Litzenseile (mit runden Litzen und Formlitzen) sowie an Flachseile für Förderanlagen im Bergbau, und ist im Zusammenhang mit Teil 1 zu verwenden. Das Vorhaben kann auch für Seile für andere Bergbauzwecke, Beispielweise Braunkohlentagebau, verwendet werden. Das Vorhaben gilt für Seile in neuen Anlagen und für Seile, die nach Herausgabedatum der vorliegenden Norm hergestellt wurden. Das Vorhaben kann auch für neue Seile für vorhandene Anlagen angewandt werden.
