Dies ist eine konsolidierte Fassung der EN 12385-4:2002 und enthält die Europäische Änderung A1:2008 zur Norm. Dieser Teil dieser Europäischen Norm legt die Anforderungen für Litzenseile aus Stahldraht für allgemeine Hebezwecke fest. Er sollte in Verbindung mit Teil 1 dieser Norm gelesen werden. Mindestbruchkräfte für die gebräuchlicheren Konstruktionsklassen, Größen und Festigkeitsklassen sind in den Tabellen 4 bis 16 angegeben. Anhang A gibt das Verfahren zur Berechnung der Mindestbruchkraft für die gebräuchlicheren Konstruktionsklassen und Festigkeitsklassen an.
