Diese Norm legt die statistische Auswertung von Ringversuchen fest. Diese Norm gilt gemeinsam mit DIN 38402-41, für Ringversuche in der Wasser-, Abwasser-, Schlamm- und Sedimentanalytik. Für die Auswertung von Ringversuchen im Bereich biologischer Testverfahren ist diese Norm nur eingeschränkt anwendbar. Die aus Ringversuchen gewonnenen statistischen Kenndaten sind besonders geeignet, quantitative Aussagen über die Präzision und Richtigkeit von Analysenverfahren und -ergebnissen zu gewinnen.
