Die Norm enthält die Bemessung für Rauchabzüge in eingeschossigen Gebäuden und im obersten Geschoß mehrgeschossiger Gebäude im Industriebau, bei denen eine vertikale Rauchabführung durch thermischen Auftrieb der Brandgase unmittelbar oberhalb der Brandentstehung erfolgt. Ferner sind die Anforderungen an die Rauchabzüge sowie Regeln für den Einbau der Rauchabzüge aufgeführt. Außerdem sind die Abnahmeprüfung sowie die Wartung von Rauchabzügen geregelt.
