Diese Norm wurde im NABau-Arbeitsausschuß 04.09.00 'Neufassung der DIN 1052' erarbeitet. Er lehnt sich an DIN V ENV 1995-1-1 'Entwurf, Berechnung und Bemessung von Holzbauwerken; Teil 1-1: Allgemeine Bemessungsregeln, Bemessungsregen für den Hochbau' an und berücksichtigt damit den Stand der technischen Entwicklung hinsichtlich Sicherheitskonzept, Schnittgrößenermittlung und Bemessung im Ingenieurholzbau. Er enthält damit gleichzeitig den abgestimmten deutschen Standpunkt zur europäischen Normung.
