Die Richtlinie findet Anwendung auf Maßnahmen des Explosionsschutzes bei Wirbelschicht-Sprüh-Granulatoren, Wirbelschicht-Trocknern und Wirbelschicht-Coatinganlagen, in denen bei bestimmungsgemäßer Verwendung brennbare Staub/Luft-Gemische, Dampf/Luft-Gemische oder hybride Gemische vorhanden sind oder entstehen können. Ausgenommen von dieser Richtlinie sind Wirbelschichtfeuerungen nach TRD 415.
