Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM, Teil der ÖVE/ÖNORM EN 61331 Reihe gilt für BLEIGLASSCHEIBEN, die in einer RADIOLOGISCHEN EINRICHTUNG oder in RADIOLOGISCHEN INSTALLATIONEN genutzt werden, wo eine optische Übertragung sichtbarer Bilder, TYP SC, oder eine andere Art der Betrachtung, TYP VI, durch STRAHLENSCHUTZABSCHIRMUNG realisiert werden muss. Er deckt andere transparente Strahlenschutzmaterialien nicht ab wie z. B.: ÿtransparente Schutzplatten aus Kunststoff (Blei-Acrylate); ÿBrillen oder Korbbrillen mit Bleiglasscheiben zum Schutz der Augen des Bedieners (Augenschutzbrille); ÿGesichtsabschirmungen aus Bleiglas, welche das Gesicht des Bedieners vollständig abdecken; ÿAugenschutz für den Patienten und ÿSchilddrüse-/Hals-Schutzeinrichtungen.
