Diese ÖVE/ÖNORM gilt für elektrische Freileitungen mit Nennspannungen über AC 45 kV und Nennfrequenzen unter 100 Hz. Diese Norm legt die allgemeinen Anforderungen fest, die bei der Planung und Errichtung neuer Freileitungen erfüllt werden müssen, um sicherzustellen, dass die Freileitung ihren Zweck in Bezug auf Personensicherheit, Instandhaltung, Betrieb und Umweltfragen erfüllt. Diese Bestimmungen gelten auch für Fernmeldeleitungen, die auf Tragwerken von Hochspannungsfreileitungen mitgeführt werden. Sie gelten nicht für Seil- oder Kabelkonstruktionen mit integrierten Lichtwellenleitern, unbeschadet ihrer Verwendung, die keine Funktion als Erd- oder Leiterseil erfüllen.
