Mit dieser ÖNORM wird ein international erprobtes Verfahren festgelegt, das geeignet ist, grundlegende Anhaltspunkte beider Normung von graphischen Öffentlichkeitssymbolen zu ge- ben. Die Norm beschreibt die systematische Dokumentations- arbeit, das anschließende Prüfverfahren für die erste Aus- wahl mehrerer ähnlicher Symbole zu einem vorgegebenen Be- griff und den anschließenden Verständlichkeitstest. Im An- hang der Norm werden Formblätter zur Aufbereitung der Daten und Auswertung der Testergebnisse sowie zahlreiche Beispieleangegeben.
