Diese Europäische Norm legt Verfahren zum Bewerten der Haftfestigkeit eines Beschichtungssystems beliebiger Dicke auf einem Stahlsubstrat mit einer Dicke nicht unter 10 mm fest. Die in dieser Norm angegebenen Verfahren basieren auf Prüfverfahren für unterschiedliche Typen von Abreißprüfgeräten. Die mit unterschiedlichen Typen von Abreißprüfgeräten erhaltenen Ergebnisse dürfen nicht verglichen werden. Wenn die Dicke des Substrates weniger als 10 mm beträgt, muss das Substrat verstärkt werden (z.B. Sandwich-Technik), um Verbiegen zu vermeiden. Anderenfalls ist Teil 2 dieser Norm anzuwenden, oder Probenplatten mit einer Dicke von mindestens 10 mm sind gleichzeitig zu beschichten.
