This standard prescribes a method for establishing the minimum air volume flow rate through an extraction device, such as hood or nozzle, that is required for effective capture of fume and gases from welding and allied processes. The method prescribed in this standard can be used for extraction devices of any aspect ratio and cross sectional area. This standard prescribes how extraction devices are to be marked.
