Festgelegt sind die technischen Sicherheitsanforderungen und Schutzmaßnahmen für pneumatische Pressen, die zur Kaltbearbeitung von Metallen oder teilweise aus Metallen bestehenden Werkstoffen dienen. Diese Festlegungen sind an den Konstrukteur und an den Hersteller sowie an den Lieferaten solcher Werkzeugmaschinen gerichtet. Ausführlich beschrieben sind die zu beachtenden möglichen Gefährdungen sowie deren präventive Schutzmaßnahmen. Weiters sind Anforderungen an Schutzeinrichtungen des Werkzeugbereiches für die verschiedenen Betriebsarten behandelt. Für die Überprüfung der Übereinstimmung mit den wesentlichen Sicherheitsanforderungen und/oder Schutzmaßnahmen sind eigenen Verfahren angegeben. Für die Ermittlung der Sicherheitsabstände sind entsprechende Hinweise angeführt.
