This European Standard gives guidance on how to deal with vibration in type C-standards where
vibration is identified as a significant hazard (see 4.6 of EN 292-1:1991). As such, this European
Standard supplements the rules given in EN 414.
The exact way that vibration is dealt with for particular machinery will depend on the structure of the
type C-standards and is the responsibility of the type C-standards Technical Committees.
