Die vorliegende Norm legt Prüfverfahren sowie Verfahren zur Angabe der Anforderungen hinsichtlich der Nennleistungen und des Betriebs fest und enthält Anforderungen an die Kennzeichnung von Flüssigkeitskühlsätzen, Wasser/Wasser-Wärmepumpen und Luft/Wasser-Wärmepumpen mit elektrisch angetriebenen Verdichtern, wenn sie zum Kühlen oder zum Kühlen mit Wärmerückgewinnung eingesetzt werden. Beim Einsatz dieser Geräte für Heizzwecke gelten die Teile 1 bis 4 von EN 255. Diese Norm gilt für industriell gefertigte Geräte, die mit eingebauten Verflüssigern oder mit getrennt angeordneten Verflüssigern betrieben werden.
