Diese Norm legt die technischen Lieferbedingungen fest für Halbzeug, warmgeformt (z. B.: Vorblöcke, Knüppel und Vorbrammen), Stabstahl, Walzdraht, Breitflachstahl, Quartobleche, warmgewalztes Blech und Band, Freiform- und Gesenkschmiedestücke aus den in Tabelle 3 aufgeführten unlegierten und legierten Einsatzstählen, die in einem der für die verschiedenen Erzeugnisformen in Tabelle 1, Zeilen 2 bis 7, angegebenen Wärmebehandlungszustände und in einer der in Tabelle 2 angegebenen Oberflächenausführungen geliefert werden. Die Stähle sind im allgemeinen zur Herstellung einsatzgehärteter Maschinenteile vorgesehen. Zusätzlich zu den Angaben dieser Norm gelten, soweit im folgenden nichts anderes festgelegt ist, die allgemeinen technischen Lieferbedingungen nach ÖNORM EN 10021.
