This Standard aims to specify principles for tolerances and their testing. The tolerances defined in the present Standard as well as in DIN 18203-1 and in DIN 18203-3 represent the accuracy to be achieved within the framework of ordinary care. They always apply, unless other accuracies have been agreed upon. The Standard applies to manufacturing of building components as well as to execution of structures. The tolerances specified in this Standard for the execution of structures apply irrespective of the building materials used. The values for time- and load-dependent deformations are not dealt with by this Standard and shall, therefore, be considered separately.
